Ad hoc help, when it mattered.
The first work was device troubleshooting — fast, practical support where the team needed it.

For more than 40 years, Tonkin’s familiar vans have been part of the Albury–Wodonga landscape. What began as Tonkin Plumbing has grown into a multi-trade group delivering plumbing, electrical, heating and cooling, roofing and refrigeration services to homes, businesses and major projects across the region.
Their work is immediate, practical and highly visible. The technology that supports it needs to be the same: reliable at the office, in the van and on site — without becoming another job for the people delivering the service. That covers the whole technology lifecycle, from the first quote to the buy-back.

One partner. Every stage. Every device.
Not a big-bang transformation. A relationship that earned the next step by making the last one work.
The first work was device troubleshooting — fast, practical support where the team needed it.
That trust grew into managing the IT environment behind the business: users, devices, software and the everyday support desk.
As the business expanded, so did the need for managed devices, more deliberate security and a technology plan that could keep pace.
Today the relationship spans procurement, deployment, helpdesk, service, security, renewal and buy-back — not simply hardware supply.

Tonkin uses EduCom IT across the technology lifecycle. Each capability has a role to play, and the value is in how those pieces work together.
MacBook, iPad and iPhone procurement, deployment, repair and support for a team that works everywhere.
Devices are supplied and configured around the people using them, whether they are in the office, in a vehicle or on a job site.Apple at EduCom IT →Licensing, identity, SharePoint and cloud data configured around how the office actually operates.
We manage the Microsoft 365 environment as part of the wider service, keeping files, access and collaboration aligned as the business changes.Microsoft 365 →MDM introduced as the fleet grew — turning individual devices into a secure, manageable workplace.

Tonkin uses our ticketing system for day-to-day support and buys hardware and software through the same relationship that supports it.Business helpdesk →Security requirements reviewed and strengthened across the business, with the goal of setting a higher industry bar.
Keeper, Huntress and ongoing hardening work together with better access, endpoint and cloud practices to make security part of normal operations.Cyber security →Procure, deploy, support, service, renew and buy back — one relationship that follows every device through.
From merger support and Windows-to-Apple transitions to local authorised servicing and buy-back, the technology journey stays connected.Technology lifecycle →
We look after the practical layer behind the work: Microsoft 365 licensing, SharePoint and cloud data, user access, software, support tickets and the projects that keep the operation moving.
When Tonkin merged with a new partner, we helped bring that team across from Windows to Apple — carrying the standards, context and support model with them.
Tonkin’s people use MacBook, iPad and iPhone across the business. EduCom IT supplies, configures and manages the fleet so a device arrives ready for work — and stays useful for the full life of the investment.
As the group has grown, that has meant more than choosing good hardware. We have helped introduce managed deployment, support a new partner moving from Windows to Apple, and keep the same standards in place across office teams and people working on the road.

EduCom IT is working with Tonkin to harden and review the security requirements across their environment: managed access, protected endpoints, cloud data and a clearer security standard for a multi-trade operation.
That includes the tools and habits around the work — Keeper Password Manager, Huntress protection, Microsoft 365 security, managed devices and practical guidance for people working across office and field environments.
The work is deliberate and ongoing. The aim is not a badge on a checklist; it is a safer, more resilient business that can keep serving its customers.

Tonkin Group uses more than our hardware procurement. They use EduCom IT across the technology lifecycle — because the devices, systems, security and service all work better when they are connected.
